My name is Lyra and I come from the Mile High City, 5,280 feet above sea level. I come from strong and loud mouthed women, sturdy, snow-capped peaks, and blue, bright, and clean winter days that chill you to the bone. I come from hardworking parents who raised me to do the right thing. I come from hardworking parents who raised me to be hardworking. I come from a line of people who never had it easy, but made it out just fine in the end. I come from hoping I can continue that legacy.

I live and thrive in Portland, Oregon. Here, the oyster shooters are much more affordable compared to my landlocked home, and a drive to the beach is only an hour away. Despite being raised close to the Rocky Mountains, it is here that I have taken up snowboarding. Portland has taught me to cherish the sun, as it only comes after of a week of dreary rain and grey skies. I don’t believe that Portland is where dreams come true, but Portland is where you learn to work hard.
